What is Safe Exercise During Pregnancy? Does One Guideline Fit All?

Is the general advice for pregnant women to keep exercise “gentle and low impact” (i.e. walking, swimming, pre-natal pilates, pre-natal yoga) correct? This is very safe advice and absolutely appropriate for those who have never exercised before getting pregnant.
