Pelvic Health Physiotherapist
Hannemari is an experienced Pelvic Health Physiotherapist with a background in Exercise Physiology.
Having worked as an Exercise Physiologist (Biokineticist) with a special interest in Women's Health, in South Africa and Hong Kong for more than 10 years alongside Physiotherapists, Podiatrists and Massage Therapists, Hannemari undertook her Physiotherapy Degree in 2012 in New Zealand. Relocating to Australia after completion of her degree, she continued her studies in the treatment and management of Women's, Men's and Pelvic Health and has focused her work in the this area ever since.
Pelvic Health is a rapidly developing area of speciality within the physiotherapy profession with new research being published daily. Hannemari keeps abreast of these developments with continued reading and learning on advanced courses, seminars and conferences.
With this extensive experience, Hannemari has developed into a caring, compassionate therapist who strives to get the best result for each client. As for all our therapists at Beaches Pelvic Physio, she develops individualised, evidence based treatment and management plans for both men and women for all pelvic health and pregnancy related conditions. She strongly believes in using exercise as medicine to help people achieve their best physical health and develops individualised programmes to be able to continue exercise/sport whilst undergoing treatment for pelvic health issues, to return safely to sport post-natally and post-operatively and to increase running efficiency.
In her spare time she rarely sits still, enjoying long distance running, hiking, playing squash and golf, and travelling.
Her main areas of clinical interest are:
. Pelvic Girdle Pain
. Pelvic Floor Muscle Dysfunction
. Prolapse (including vaginal pessary fitting)
. Bladder Dysfunction
. Pre-/Post-Natal issues
. Pre-/Post-Operative care
. Deep Core Retraining
. Return to Exercise Programmes
. Exercise Rehabilitation
. Injury Free Running
. Men's Health (incontinence, pelvic pain, erectile dysfunction, pre-/post-prostatectomy)
