GCert CMPOP
Pelvic Health & Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist
Locations: North Curl Curl (Wed, Fri), Manly (Thurs)

Caitlin graduated with First Class Honours from the University of Sydney in 2012 and brings over a decade of rich clinical experience to her practice. Having built a strong foundation as a Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist in an acute hospital and a busy CBD private practice, Caitlin transitioned her focus to pelvic health 7 years ago.

Over the past 5 years, Caitlin has completed extensive post-graduate study through the University of Melbourne, culminating in a Master of Physiotherapy (Pelvic Health) degree. Following rigorous clinical examinations, she then achieved the prestigious title of APA Titled Women's, Men's and Pelvic Health Physiotherapist. In addition to this, she holds a Post-Graduate Certificate in Pelvic Organ Prolapse from the University of South Australia.

Her passion for pelvic health deepened after the birth of her two boys.  Experiencing the physical and emotional demands of pregnancy, childbirth, and early parenting first hand, has given her a deep empathy for the women she treats.  Having worked alongside leading Obstetricians in one of Sydney's busiest maternity and gynaecological hospitals, she is a strong advocate for early intervention and proactive education.

By seamlessly blending her background in sports and musculoskeletal physio with advanced pelvic health, Caitlin provides a truely holistic, evidence-based approach. Her treatment combines manual therapy, advanced pessary fitting, and tailored clinical exercise (Pilates and strength training) and rehabilitation to restore function and confidence.

Caitlin has a special interest in pelvic organ prolapse, incontinence, and peri-/post-menopause care. She loves guiding women through complex, overlapping, bladder, bowel and vaginal symptoms that can feel overwhelming during hormonal transitions.

She firmly believes that no-one should ever be told to "just put up with it". Her approach is collaborative, empowering, and tailored to your specific goals - whether that's returning to high-level sport, lifting children with ease, or simply sneezing without worry.

Finally, Caitlin stays at the forefront of clinical research by undertaking annual research updates with the Women's Health Training Associates (WHTA). This, together with her completion of the WHTA Advanced Courses and her extensive post-graduate studies, means that her skills cross the boundaries of pelvic floor dysfunction, bladder and bowel disorders, prolapse (including advanced pessary fitting), persistent pelvic and sexual pain, ante-natal risk prediction, and musculoskeletal health in sport and exercise within a trauma informed framework.

Her main areas of clinical interest are:

  • Pelvic Organ Prolapse: advanced conservative management and vaginal pessary fitting

  • Bladder Dysfunction: stress and urge incontinence, urinary frequency, bladder pain and poor emptying

  • Bowel Dysfunction: Constipation, urgency, incontinence, (especially when overlapping with pelvic floor or systemic conditions)

  • Pelvic Floor Muscle Dysfunction: High tone/hypertonic pelvic floor muscles, pelvic floor muscle weakness, and/or coordination issues

  • Pelvic Girdle Pain: Pubis symphysis, sacroiliac joints, coccyx and deep gluteal pain (pregnancy-related, sporting or general)

  • Pre-/Post-Natal care: Comprehensive birth preparation, pelvic floor recovery, abdominal separation (DRA) and safe return to exercise planning

  • Internal Pelvic Pain: Vulvodynia, vaginismus, endometriosis, dyspareunia (painful sex), and recovery following gynaecological or pelvic cancer treatments

  • Lactation & Breast Care: Therapeutic ultrasound and management for mastitis and blocked ducts

  • Return to Sport Programmes: Tailored post-natal, post-operative or athletic performance programmes

  • Clinical Pilates and Dry Needling

Fun Facts:

How did you get into pelvic physio?

I had a standout lecture on maternity physiotherapy as an undergraduate student and instantly felt drawn to it.  After working for several years in musculoskeletal physio, I kept coming back to that passion - especially as I began thinking about becoming a Mum myself.  Experiencing the physical toll of pregnancy and childbirth really opened my eyes to under-supported many women are during this time.  I started post-graduate masters degree  in pelvic health in 2020 (just as the pandemic hit!), and two boys and many courses later, here I am, blending the internal and external aspects of pelvic health to help people move and live well.

What are your passions in the field?

I'm especially passionate about helping people stay active, even when facing pelvic challenges like prolapse, incontinence or pain.  I love creating practical, tailored plans that meet you where you are - whether you're training for a marathon, lifting toddlers, or navigating peri-menopause.  My goal is always to restore confidence and function, so you  can do what you love without fear or shame.

What would you like to see change in the world of pelvic health?

I'd love to see pelvic health support become a standard part of care across all life stages - not just something women stumble into after symptoms appear.  We need more proactive education in schools, pregnancy, and menopause care.  Peri-menopause is such an under-served area, and physiotherapy has so much to offer in supporting women through this often turbulent time.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

Outside of the clinic, I'm chasing after my two very energetic boys!  I love running along the Northern Beaches, swimming in the ocean, and heading into the bush for a hike whenever I can.  I'm a big reader (especially Aussie fiction), love a quiet coffee in the sun, and I'm always planning my next holiday - preferably somewhere with mountains and water.
